Ryan Nigli revised

Ryan Nigli

Dear Parishioners of Our Lady of Sorrows,

My name is Ryan Nigli, and I am a seminarian from St. Augustine’s Seminary of Toronto. Having completed four years of formation (philosophy, spiritual year, and two years of theology), I have now been appointed at Our Lady of Sorrows for my internship year. I will be shadowing Fr. Chris to learn more about the life of a diocesan priest in Toronto, and will be participating in the liturgical, catechetical, and social life of the parish.

I was born and raised in Etobicoke. My parents moved to Canada from India and worked tirelessly to support my older brother, younger sister, and me. My home parish is St. Ambrose, and I attended St. Ambrose Catholic School. I then went to Michael Power/St. Joseph Catholic High School and later studied at King’s University College at the University of Western Ontario where I completed an Honors Specialization in the Catholic Studies for Teachers Program. I went in wanting to be a Catholic school teacher but ended up discovering that God was inviting me to discern a vocation to the holy priesthood.

I am delighted to have been placed here at Our Lady of Sorrows this year (until the end of July 2022), and I look forward to meeting and serving all of you at the parish. Please keep me in your prayers as I continue to discern my vocation and be assured of my prayers for all of you. God bless!
