Scam Alert

It has been brought to the attention of the parish office that fake emails are being circulated to be from clergy or office staff in the form of:

• solicitating donations in the form of gift cards
• attempts to start an online conversation
• suspicious documents attached to the message

These are fraudulent emails. We ask you to be on the lookout for online scam attempts.

What to do?

• It is helpful to look at the sender’s information to determine if an email is legitimate or not. 
• If the sender information seems odd or if the message is out of character for the sender, do not reply to the message or download any of its attachments, as an increased reply rate encourages more fake emails.
• If in doubt, contact sender by some alternate means.
