Lenten Conversations in Spirituality and Ethics: A 3-part series led by Dr. Ann Sirek

Thursdays, Feb. 19, 26, and Mar. 12, after the 9:00 am Mass in the parish hall.

The reflections will address traditional Lenten themes but with fresh insights to encourage a deeper intimacy with our loving God.

1) Prayer: How do I live difficult experiences so that they become an ongoing prayer?

2) Remorse: How do I live the Ten Commandments with my weak and broken human nature?

3) Mercy: How do I live the works of mercy as a disposition of the heart?

About Dr. Ann Sirek
Dr. Ann is a retired physician who volunteers as a spiritual companion to the dying and to the bereaved, both at the Dorothy Ley Hospice and at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish. Her doctoral dissertation (Regis St Michael's College, 2018) was an exploration in companioning the spiritual response to suffering.  Her medical career (Kitchener Waterloo) was in Internal Medicine, specializing in the care of persons with diabetes. She loves teaching in the parish setting where spirituality, ethics, and suffering intersect. She lives in Mimico with her little dog; her children, now grown, are busy raising their own families. Her hobbies are her garden, her sewing/knitting arts, as well as ballroom dance. Ann can be reached at ann.sirek50@gmail.com
