First Communion & Confirmation (2020/2021)

Registration for  First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion 2020-2021

To be eligible to prepare for and receive a sacrament at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, participants and their families must fulfill three conditions:

  1. Family should be registered parishioners of OLS Parish (NB: registration at OLS School or family history of sacraments received at OLS Parish do not constitute parish registration).
  2. Regularly attend Sunday Mass - During the pandemic, registration is required to reserve a spot at in the church.  The 11 am Sunday Mass is livestreamed. Visit our parish website to register for Mass and subscribe to our YouTube channel to join the livestream Mass.
  3. Participation of parents and children in the relevant aspects of the preparation program outlined below.

If your family does not regularly attend Sunday Mass at OLS and/or is not officially registered with a parish, you are welcome to register with the parish at this time and begin attending regularly (by livestream or in person).  All other families should, at their earliest convenience, contact the parish nearest their home or the parish they regularly attend, for information on sacramental preparation.

Children who do not attend a Catholic school are also required to be enrolled in the parish's Religious Education Program.  This is a seven-year program (grade 1 to grade 7) that follows the religious education curriculum set by the TCDSB.  See information regarding the parish's Religious Education Program on the parish website.

If your child is not already registered, please register now to participate for 2021/2022.

Registration is closed for 2020/2021.

Sacramental Preparation Program

  • Our program is founded on the following resource books: "We Prepare for Reconciliation" and "We Share in the Eucharist" (Novalis).  Parents are asked to work on the content of these books at home with their children.
  • Our virtual catechetical sessions aim to support parent-child preparation for the sacraments in their work at home with the resource.
  • First Reconciliation dates will be emailed by mid December.
  • First Communion Masses will be celebrated during the Easter Season and will be assigned by Mid December.

Out-door registration will take place on Sat Nov 14th from 2-4 pm in the parish parking lot.

Books will be distributed at the time of registration. Please bring the compete registration package (registration form, legible copy of your child's Certificate of Catholic Baptism, Social Media Release Form and $50 registration fee) when registering your child.
